The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Fans can look forward to learning which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
