One 60-day voyage circling the Australian Coast has been cancelled days after the death of an older female passenger who was left behind by the cruise liner on a remote tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the vessel, but broke off from the excursion for a break. The ship left without her and came back several hours later after the personnel realised the woman was unaccounted for.

An extensive search operation discovered her person the subsequent day.
